About ASCD:

    

Welcome to the Hofstra University ASCD Student Chapter Club. ASCD, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, is a worldwide organization that promotes professional development among educators. Being an international group, ASCD is comprised of members from over 135 countries.  The Hofstra University ASCD Student Chapter Club formed in April of 2004. We are determined to continue to provide professional development to all teachers and future teachers at Hofstra.  Thanks to the establishment of Hofstra’s student chapter both undergraduate and graduate students from Hofstra who have become part of the ASCD community. 

 

Our Seminar Meetings :

The Hofstra University ASCD Student Chapter Club holds regular monthly seminars. Each seminar features a guest speaker. The speakers share their knowledge related to best practices in education. Some of the speakers we have had include:
Erie Freedom, Principal, B**** School
Dominic Polenza, Technology, BOCES
Camille Sullivan, Assessment Superintendent, Human Resources, Shoreham Wading River SChool District

Becoming a Member:

We invite all Hofstra students to our student chapter of ASCD.  If anyone is interested in joining, please contact Alicia Torres who is in charge of membership. You may want to e-mail her at ASCDatHofstra@yahoo.com.  Also, if you have any questions about the Hofstra University ASCD Student Chapter Club, please feel free to contact any of our executive members.  We are happy to help you in any way possible.
